Tabs below the address bar

Right-click next on the tab bar on the empty space, right of the plus sign and uncheck Tabs on Top.

Status bar

To display the old trusty status bar and have links show in the bottom when you hover over them:

1. Right-click next on the tab bar on the empty space and check Add-on Bar.
2. Install Status-4-Evar. Restart the browser and go to its Preferences.
3. Select Status bar in Show hovered links in. Switch to the Add-on Bar tab still in the Preferences, and uncheck Show the close button.
4. Right-click on the new add-on bar at the bottom and select Customize. Drag the button Status text onto the add-on bar.

Get back my old extensions

Some extensions will not work with the new Firefox 4.0. There are new versions for some. Check their homepages to find out more.

To disable add-on compatibility check, open up about:config from the address bar and create a new boolean key extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0 with the value false.

Disable tab animation

Go to about:config and double-click browser.tabs.animate to change the value to false. The change is instant.
